He said just in its first year, PF has made progress in promoting democracy and correcting irresponsible acts that were allegedly done by the previous MMD regime.
He explained that government has managed to revise the sale of Zamtel, taking over the operations of Railway Systems of Zambia among other bold decisions it made in its quest to empower and create jobs for Zambians.
He further cited the media as one industry that has been left to operate without government inference because of the role it plays in enhancing democracy in any country.

The Vice President stated that despite these achievements the PF government is committed to ensuring that the lives of all Zambians are improved regardless of their standing or political affiliation in society.
Dr. Scott promised that in the next four years government is aiming at revising the agriculture system and make it more balanced in order to help farmers diversify and not only depend on growing of one crop.
He added that government is also making sure that infrastructure, health and education sectors are improved to quality standards and accommodate all the people in the country.
On 23rd September 2012, the PF government clocked one year in office and various stakeholders have expressed mixed feelings on its performance during its first year of being in government.
